  1. Fascinating breakdown of the differences between early-and mid-production suits. I guess the former were used in at least a few marketing stills, because the difference between those and the focus shots on transformed werewolves are minor but distinct. Thanks for sharing, and I’m inclined to agree with Baker: wolves need some embellishing to make proper horror subjects.

    1. Yes the early suits and puppets are mostly seen in publicity photos. You can distinguish the early wolf head from the film one by looking at the teeth or the eyes. The early suit you can glimpse when Terri is attacked in the cabin. Everything else was reshot.

      And agreed – film werewolves cannot be just big wolves! Boring!
